Last week i travelled from tarbela to peshawar using the newly constructed islamabad-peshawar motorway M1, as i know that the remaining peshawar-burhan portion is open for traffic now, indeed i was a bit excited after knowing its opening back on 30th October. so avoiding the crowd & pathetic GT road, without any doubt i have to choose this route to reach peshawar where took residence from the last 3 years at peshawar university hostel no 1 in order to fullfill my educational needs after starting my journey from tarbela i have to choose swabi interchange because the proposed chachh interchange was still under construction. so reached swabi, at swabi interchange the electronic enter/exit cabins was not functioning yet! so the guy give me a stamped enter slip, after that!! the poilice of NHA give me some kind advices like, to wear seat belt & not to exceed the speed then 110kmph, he also warns me about animals like bufallow, goats & other pets because the road boundary was not fully covered yet. well the journey was good i enjoyed the surrounding areas as there was mostly maze & sugar cane fields on the way & no houses at all, so i thought this would be the expected target area for contractors. there was no disturbance on the way except a little bull shits listening to FM 101 & maintaing my speed i shortly reached peshawar.

M1,Islamabad to Peshawar Section is149 km of four lane motorway, it is constructed at the cost of 13203 million rupees. it provides interchanges at the places of swabi, chachh (under construction), charsadda, nowshera and ring road (peshawar). there is no CNG or fuel station on the way & the mini service centers like tyre shop, lube shop etc are under construction, while i observe only one tuck shop besides it. after the completion of this M1 section 768 km of motorway are functional out of 3000 km mega project that is intended to reach karachi port.
