PTV (pakistan television) with its new theme of transmison come up days before when i vitness some modifications in its programs. now PTV One is called PTV HOME and the PTV WORLD has been renamed as PTV NEWS. these two channels is now obligated to run programs as follows. PTV NEWS  provide news followed by current affairs programs provided with experts openions while PTV HOME will telecast round the clock entertainment that includes dramas, music programs etc. besides these two channels there are 4 other channels of PTV, PTV Global ! a satellite channel for pakistanies living abroad, PTV national ! another satelite channel to promote regional culture with pushto, punjabi, sindhi & balochi hosted programs. AJKTV ! a kashmiri channel, providing programs for kashmiri viewers including news in kashmiri & gojri language. yes, news studios background, backgruond music, slogans, symbols & grafics on screen are changed. i guess now news casters are provided after more special coat of make over now more glamor is surrounding in ptv transmission.

From 1964 till now PTV is the big source of news for people living in romote areas of pakistan. now ptv attempts to give more attention to news section. although i did’nt observe ptv anytime highlighting news that did’nt goes in the favor of ruling government. but now where country has many different private channels which without any fear undress all dirty aspects of government. general pervaiz musharraf current blessing of new look to ptv is surely for conveying & convensing, much better to say for forcing his right or wrong ajendas to public. though these two channels com ups with new look, new theme & new determination to infrom & entertain pakistanis but there is a great need of time to make it public friendly rather then government friendly.
