The iphone fame in Pakistan is at rise despite the fact that it is not officially launched here at yet. Interestingly a number of people attempt to buy the fake iphone by considering it the original one. Something similar I had experienced few days back but luckily saved my $250 from wasting it on the so called iphone. So here I am to unhide the mockery of fake iphone. By look it is appealing enough that it is certainly difficult to recognize it as the copy of iphone. This inferior iphone has the same size of touch pad screen, an apple logo & the statement manufactured in California assembled in china on the back side. You can’t say it a crap phone until you play with it for a while. Yes! After being annoyed by its poor touch pad sensitivity you must say, this is the worst iphone I had ever seen.

This iphone lacks almost every superior function that original has, it didn’t support Wi-Fi internet connectivity nor you can install apple applications from the application store, music store & iTunes. If you like to play games, you will find it difficult to enjoy a proper game using this iPhone. Its low pixels camera is crap. It didn’t support GPS navigator, it can’t even play mp3 & the funniest part is its poor touch sensor where you need a touch pen to browse. A touch pen is the part of this phone. Its sound quality is worst, listing to songs on its headphone is like listening the radio transmission of your neighboring countries at MW frequency.

I don’t know the exact price of this iphone in Pakistan but it deserves nothing more in the range of $100. Yes the credit goes to china for copying apple but remember buying this phone is a mistake, if you had ever used the genuine iphone you will prefer to throw it after using it for a couple of days. So be aware:)

Identity fraud in SIM registration process is one of the major problem that is in the scenario since the arrival of telecom companies in Pakistan, I believe telecom companies, government & the users itself are responsible for it, First it is the responsibility of telecom companies to allow only the authorized sales points for the sales & registration of there SIMs (subscribers identity module). They are required to actively monitor the sale points & ensure fair registration from the users. However we can expect them unfair at this, because every company likes to have more subscribers to gain more revenue. So ultimately for achieving this they can try every possible sales channel without caring about the consequence.

Ok! Now turning towards the government which holds a major responsibility in this regard, unfortunatly it seems me that the government was finding it difficult to direct the telecom operators with a fair & strict policy regarding the registration of new SIMs, Before the serious involvement of PTA (Pakistan telecom authority) the sales & registration process of telecom subscribers are not fair, SIMs of different companies were selling without the requirements of proper identity document, that is as easy as finding classifieds from Craigslist. Even a kid can purchase these SIMs from any retailor.

Franchises & the retailors are the great contributors in the occurrence of fake entries, every franchise owner gets a good profit margin on every SIM that is registered & sold in a defined region. They make fake entries for their sales in most of the cases when a buyer didn’t submit their original CNIC with the purchase. Similar is the case with retailers, they get Rs 20 to 30 on each registration form they submit to the franchise for registration, they attach anonymous CNIC with the registration forms that resulted in the fake entry for a particular mobile number. However, PTA has make these things easier now. you can register your SIM directly by calling them from your mobile phone.

Apple the legislative of iPhone has announced an update for the users of this decent phone. The updated firmware 3.1 with bug fixes. apple also released a new series of itunes, its a 9th version. if you’re into phones, specially the iphone, then this must be a good update for you. though i am not a big fan of iphone becasue it dont like phones with touch pad, but yes, it influence me due to its unique design & attractive features. its a good entertainer rather then just a phone. you can enjoy your web presence at the best level if you are using iphone.

I have read few reviews in a forum about this update which reveals that the iphone OS 3.1 updated is not that bombastic, people are expecting more. there is no such additional features provided in it. Except few improvement in making it user friendly, the modem firmware & easy synchronization.

The features provided in this firmware included, itunes U content organisation, save the vedio from mail & MMS into camera roll, using mobileMe remotly lock your iphone, paste phone numbers into the dial pad & an improved iPhone Wi-Fi performance when Bluetooth is on.

How to get internships in the telecom sector of Pakistan? There might be a lot of students & fresh graduates who seek paid or volunteer internship in Ufone, mobilink,Telenor & other cellular companies in Pakistan. In order to face the future challenges, it is necessary for fresh student to get practical work experience by joining any organizations as a fresh internee. In fact it is a very first step towards your career. In, particular the organization & team where you seek internship is very important, choose it with great care. this is because if you get a chance to work with a team of high repute, it is quite good to polish your hidden skills & make you able enough to face a challenging career path in future. Generally internships are offered in summer vacations in Pakistan by few companies and are limited to students from highly recognized universities/institutions. frankly speaking! the scenario of internships in mobile companies like Telenor, Zong, Ufone & Warid is quite frustrating. It is quite difficult to get internship opportunity due to lack of proper channels for internship. unless you have a good reference, nobody allows you work with them! because in most of the cases students get internship through a reference with someone in the management of company.

An year ago after the completion of my masters degree, I got a chance to secure a 3 months internship at Ufone customer services center in Peshawar regional office. It is surely a good chance of learning for me at that stage. Mainly my job description is to carry out customer services operations by resolving problems of walk in customers. For marketing internships you can directly approach the incharge of sales & customer service department, for technical & finance internship it is better to find acquaintances who is already employed there & use their reference to get your entry as an internee

zong GPRS

Are you pissed off with the speed of dial up internet connection at your location? or you need a portable & cheap internet solution for your laptop? In both the cases this post might be helpful. This is a step by step tutorial about how to connect to internet via GPRS by using your zong connection.

First of all you have to subscribed for zong GPRS package. you can choose among 2GB, 4GB or unlimited GPRS. dial 905 & follow the instructions. OR by sms, write SUB2GB OR 4GB or Unlimited & send it to 905. for general internet use a 2GB package is quite enough for whole month. Now make sure that you have activated the GPRS settings to your mobile, GPRS settings can be obtained by SMS, Write “your phone maker & model” like “NOKIA 6300″ & send it to 131. You will receive the desired setting, Activate it on your mobile phone.

Once you successfully configured your mobile for GPRS the next step is to connect it to your PC or laptop. If you are using nokia cell phone you can either use data cable or bluetooth device. I’ll prefers data cable here because it is more effective. the 3 easy steps to connect. First – Install Nokia PC suit to your computer. Second – Connect your mobile to your laptop by using data cable, usually SUB cable connectors are provided with most of the recent nokia phones. Third open your PC SUIT software & click on the button “connect to the internet” & you are all done. Enjoy internet suffering with good speed. In fact i am quite satisfied after using it. It gives me the speed of 115kb/s on my laptop.

The existence of multinational & high ranked companies in any country is surely a valuable asset that not only make a good contribution when it cames to job opportunities but also plays a part in promoting quality education & skills development. most of the multinational companies in Pakistan often seems engaged in organizing different exhibitions, seminars & off the campus competitions in order to enhance the skills of the students who belong to the related industry.

Similarly what telecoms companies is doing here in this regard is creating an embody & practical demonstration of theory. This is what i can say an open invitation for creative students to came forward. Recently mobilink one of the favorite cellular company in Pakistan announced an inter universities completion for engineering students. Ufone & zong particularly, mobilink up to some extent & warid quite often. All the telecoms operators are sharp competitors not by just the specific brands & tariff they offer but also in electronic media advertisements. Lately i came through the advertisements of ufone & zong. the recent entries makes me feel that there is nothing about convincing & persuasion with that product add but was just a taunting documentary. Although Ufone maintains its sense of humor by creating humorous adds which is the best part i like in it. These days Ufone & zong has captured most of the premiere add time in all major TV channels in Pakistan. it seems me that both the companies have acquired quite a healthy budget in this quarter for media adds. Dont it looks awkward to do extensive advertisement? or should i called it development in terms of media frenzy?

Ali zafar & telenor is no more associated with one another if we see inside latests in telecoms advertisement industry, this is when i switched on the TV a day before & noticed ali zafar performing in latest mobilink add. Is Ali zafar will be a loss for telenor? my answer will be no because now telenor have already acquired another brand girl “annie” which used to be a famous pop singer & a model. Telenor media campaign is however all about singing & dancing but it suits with the style of ali zafar. Now the same dose not suit with annie. anyhow lets see what new girl will do in future. Ali zafar is although a superstar in telenor media adds. he has performed & recorded many theme songs for telenor talkshawk media campaigns. One cannot forget him singing & dancing in talkwshawk advertisements. It is a fail idea to present him as a brand model in mobilink as he has already been used extensively in telenor. it will be a mismatch if he continuously signed add for mobilink.
