The iphone fame in Pakistan is at rise despite the fact that it is not officially launched here at yet. Interestingly a number of people attempt to buy the fake iphone by considering it the original one. Something similar I had experienced few days back but luckily saved my $250 from wasting it on the so called iphone. So here I am to unhide the mockery of fake iphone. By look it is appealing enough that it is certainly difficult to recognize it as the copy of iphone. This inferior iphone has the same size of touch pad screen, an apple logo & the statement manufactured in California assembled in china on the back side. You can’t say it a crap phone until you play with it for a while. Yes! After being annoyed by its poor touch pad sensitivity you must say, this is the worst iphone I had ever seen.

This iphone lacks almost every superior function that original has, it didn’t support Wi-Fi internet connectivity nor you can install apple applications from the application store, music store & iTunes. If you like to play roulette on you mobile, you will find it very difficult to enjoy a proper game using this iPhone. Its low pixels camera is crap. It didn’t support GPS navigator, it can’t even play mp3 & the funniest part is its poor touch sensor where you need a touch pen to browse. A touch pen is the part of this phone. Its sound quality is worst, listing to songs on its headphone is like listening the radio transmission of your neighboring countries at MW frequency.

I don’t know the exact price of this iphone in Pakistan but it deserves nothing more in the range of $100. Yes the credit goes to china for copying apple but remember buying this phone is a mistake, if you had ever used the genuine iphone you will prefer to throw it after using it for a couple of days. So be aware:)

Pakistan is one of the prominent outsourcing destination in Asia, according to the report of “Kearneys” an internationally acclaimed global consulting firm, Pakistan is the 20th favorite outsourcing hub in the word. I believe this is not enough, In Pakistan, there is large no of people with advance skills in IT & other specialized sector. there is still a big room of improvement as India & china, our neighboring countries continuously dominates as the top offshore destinations in the world. Yes! i agree they are larger then Pakistan with huge pool of resource people but the question is why are we behind in the list from the countries like Indonesia, Bulgaria & Sri Lanka??

E commerce became the source of living for most of the IT professionals, but in Pakistan when the young entrepreneurs steps forward to make their career in e-commerce, they find it difficult to manage their payments & receiving on the internet. it is hard to reveal that PayPal one of the leading source to send or receive money on the internet didn’t authorized Pakistan to avail there services. So this means that a large no of freelancers & IT professionals cant be able to get the benefit of online job portals like odesk, elance & many others.

PayPal in Pakistan became a dilemma now. Its been 11 years since paypal started their services & now they have reached 190 countries but yet Pakistan is not in the list, So the result is most of the people here get in the hassle to ask their relatives & friends from the PayPal supported country to send or receive their online payments. You know people in Malta & Uganda can send & receive payments online using PayPal but not the people of Pakistan. I don’t know the reason why PayPal is ignoring the growing entrepreneurs & online merchants of Pakistan, they are loosing a good revenue that they can make if started their services in Pakistan. I don’t want to extent this debate with unjustified remarks that people make about why PayPal is not available in Pakistan. but hope that we will see PayPal soon in our country.

Stay off of Paypal. Keep your cash at one of the online casinos listed at GamblingCity.net where you can play tons of casino games like online blackjack, craps and keno!

How many SIMs are registered with your name? You were not able to answer this question exactly but thanks to PTA now your can easily find the number of SIMS registered with your CNIC. write your CNIC number from your cell phone & send it to 668, you will receive a massage showing the number of SIMs registered with your identity for each mobile operator. This is an excellent solution to cope with identity fraud in SIMs registration process from different cellular companies in Pakistan. I must admire this step of PTA, Since one year they are actively working to archive fair data from the mobile subscribers. I believe they have succeeded in this goal. I just checked mine & was surprised to see that there are 9 telenor SIMs registered with my CNIC, I cant wait to contact the nearest Service center of telenor to infrom them about the fake entries with my identity.

Identity fraud in SIM registration process is one of the major problem that is in the scenario since the arrival of telecom companies in Pakistan, I believe telecom companies, government & the users itself are responsible for it, First it is the responsibility of telecom companies to allow only the authorized sales points for the sales & registration of there SIMs (subscribers identity module). They are required to actively monitor the sale points & ensure fair registration from the users. However we can expect them unfair at this, because every company likes to have more subscribers to gain more revenue. So ultimately for achieving this they can try every possible sales channel without caring about the consequence.

Ok! Now turning towards the government which holds a major responsibility in this regard, unfortunatly it seems me that the government was finding it difficult to direct the telecom operators with a fair & strict policy regarding the registration of new SIMs, Before the serious involvement of PTA (Pakistan telecom authority) the sales & registration process of telecom subscribers are not fair, SIMs of different companies were selling without the requirements of proper identity document, that is as easy as finding classifieds from Craigslist. Even a kid can purchase these SIMs from any retailor.

Franchises & the retailors are the great contributors in the occurrence of fake entries, every franchise owner gets a good profit margin on every SIM that is registered & sold in a defined region. They make fake entries for their sales in most of the cases when a buyer didn’t submit their original CNIC with the purchase. Similar is the case with retailers, they get Rs 20 to 30 on each registration form they submit to the franchise for registration, they attach anonymous CNIC with the registration forms that resulted in the fake entry for a particular mobile number. However, PTA has make these things easier now. you can register your SIM directly by calling them from your mobile phone.

Education is surely the back bone of development in any county, In Pakistan the educational policy commute very often. Every government strives to implement different practices with the aim to raise the standard of education. However there are still huge discriminations about the exposure of education among different segments of society. Unfortunately every education policy implemented in Pakistan has failed to come up with one standard level of curriculum for all students. A lot of factors are responsible for it. including but not limited to, level of income, religious views & the existence of private schools & colleges. The schools administered by the state are not completely capable for providing quality education. Especially the subjects that are thought in English language are ignored by most of the teachers & students. So there is still a big room of improvement.

As a matter of fact a new education policy is implemented this year. Education policy 2009 is implemented with a focus to increase the literacy rate in tribal areas of Pakistan, which was & still is the major ground for terrorist people since many years. The objective of this policy is to seek a steady increase in literacy rate in that part of the country, by achieving the target of 86 per cent overall literacy rate, according to the policy Grades 11 and 12 of the college will be merged into the school education in near future.the higher education sector will also be raised by existing 4.7 per cent to 15 per cent by 2020.

While revealing the challenges Pakistan has in its education sector is a lengthy story. The first 10 years of academic life is very important for students. However the schools run by private entities are good in providing quality education with qualified teachers & where English is considered as the medium of instruction. But that school are limited to rich families. We are here to talk about general public. The big problem in the state run education system is English. Yet the policy makers have to accept that learning more about English is very necessary at primary level of education. We are living in an era where if we didn’t get command over English we cant expect big improvement in the quality of education.

Yes I admit that we are the unconditional slaves of English language. The reason is obvious; the epoch, in which we are living, I can testify that it is now the Americans who identify worthwhile educational & development ideas. The super powers & the global media empire chant in English. Most of books related to different fields of the world are available in English over the internet. The growth of English language courses in england & other countries of Europe & Asia is the example of how English is dominance among all other languages. yes it is after all the lingo of global empire.

However a fair chain of railway is there to connect big cities, but most of the people like to travel by road in Pakistan. One of the reason might be the good structure of roads now. It is worth mentioning that the chain of our roads is getting better after the construction of motorways in the recent decade. The Peshawar – Islamabad motorway & Islamabad to Lahore motorways are the greatest achievements in this regard that provides the efficient & comfortable transportation facility to the people.

A couple of weeks ago, I was traveling from my home town (tarbela) to Islamabad, the above photo is taken soon after when i leave burhan interchange. It is about 80 Km journey. Most of the time i use the route of motorway from burhan. Yet no other choice. although it’s been 1.5 years when the motorway was opened for traffic from Peshawar to Islamabad but the chuch interchange that connect hazro & tarbela to M1 is still not open for traffic.. We are really unfortunate in this case when an interchange that directly link tarbela to motorway is not yet constructed. the authority claims that the local community are making hurdles in the construction, all the people living in the near surroundings are sane people, i wouldn’t agree with the argument that they can stop this development at there own area. Now it’s the failure of authority or what ever, this dilemma need to be resolved now.

E- Tag is the electronic toll system at motorway in Pakistan in which the tool tax is automatically deducted from the chip that is stick on the screen of the vehicle. It makes an hassle free entry & exits from motorway interchanges & you don’t need to stay in lines to pay the tool fee physically. Get on the motorway to wealth with the slots and other free casino games at GamblingCity.net like internet video poker! E-Tag is free of cost, it’s like a pre-pay billing, you just pay for tool as much you want at the booth provided at most of the big interchanges like Islamabad, Peshawar & Lahore. they need your vehicle no & NIC no to provide you a chip sticker for your vehicle wind screen. but here the E-tag got few one negative point that it is not yet available at all interchanges of motorway. you can use this facility at selected interchanges that includes, peshawar, islamabad, lahore, faisalabad, mardan & burhan.

How to get internships in the telecom sector of Pakistan? There might be a lot of students & fresh graduates who seek paid or volunteer internship in Ufone, mobilink,Telenor & other cellular companies in Pakistan. In order to face the future challenges, it is necessary for fresh student to get practical work experience by joining any organizations as a fresh internee. In fact it is a very first step towards your career. In, particular the organization & team where you seek internship is very important, choose it with great care. this is because if you get a chance to work with a team of high repute, it is quite good to polish your hidden skills & make you able enough to face a challenging career path in future. Generally internships are offered in summer vacations in Pakistan by few companies and are limited to students from highly recognized universities/institutions. frankly speaking! the scenario of internships in mobile companies like Telenor, Zong, Ufone & Warid is quite frustrating. It is quite difficult to get internship opportunity due to lack of proper channels for internship. unless you have a good reference, nobody allows you work with them! because in most of the cases students get internship through a reference with someone in the management of company.

An year ago after the completion of my masters degree, I got a chance to secure a 3 months internship at Ufone customer services center in Peshawar regional office. It is surely a good chance of learning for me at that stage. Mainly my job description is to carry out customer services operations by resolving problems of walk in customers. So it was a great chance to interact with people from different walks of life, which is surely good for building up my communication skills. i must concluded that it was a good experience & yes! they pays stipend to cover incidental expenses.

Ufone & telenor offers internship program which is formally advertised at there websites but I wonder they seldom use that way to pick candidates for internship, so if you really want to join any telecom company as a trainee. For marketing internships you can directly approach the incharge of sales & customer service department, for technical & finance internship it is better to find acquaintances who is already employed there & use their reference to get your entry as an internee

Are you pissed off with the speed of dial up internet connection at your location? or you need a portable & cheap internet solution for your laptop? In both the cases this post might be helpful. This is a step by step tutorial about how to connect to internet via GPRS by using your zong connection.

First of all you have to subscribed for zong GPRS package. you can choose among 2GB, 4GB or unlimited GPRS. dial 905 & follow the instructions. OR by sms, write SUB<SPACE>2GB OR 4GB or Unlimited & send it to 905. for general internet use a 2GB package is quite enough for whole month. Now make sure that you have activated the GPRS settings to your mobile, GPRS settings can be obtained by SMS, Write “your phone maker & model” like “NOKIA 6300″ & send it to 131. You will receive the desired setting, Activate it on your mobile phone.

Once you successfully configured your mobile for GPRS the next step is to connect it to your PC or laptop. If you are using nokia cell phone you can either use data cable or bluetooth device. I’ll prefers data cable here because it is more effective. the 3 easy steps to connect. First – Install Nokia PC suit to your computer. Second – Connect your mobile to your laptop by using data cable, usually SUB cable connectors are provided with most of the recent nokia phones. Third open your PC SUIT software & click on the button “connect to the internet” & you are all done. Enjoy internet suffering with good speed. In fact i am quite satisfied after using it. It gives me the speed of 115kb/s on my laptop.

PS: IF anyone didn’t have PC suit software, they can also make internet connection manually on their PC, the step by step guide about manual settings can be obtained by requesting ZONG customer services representatives or by writing to me at email that can be found in about me section.

Broadband surely become a necessity these days. From a general view with broadband 1 Mbps connection checking in on Facebook or any of your favorite social media, browsing to Twitter & other websites of your interest is a quick and easy job. similarly faster speeds have resulted in new trends of video uploading & sharing as well. In this era one cannot imagine to live without a the access of high speed internet.

With the growth of broadband users in pakistan, different broadband companies emerged in the market. most of them offers a broadband connection with relatively different technology. so lets discuss about the main competitors & the technology they are using.

In Fixed line broadband services with ADSL “Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line” & HFC “Hybrid Fiber Coax” technology etc, the main competitors are PTCL & linkdotnet, both have a strong portfolio but PTCL got extensively wide network then linkdotnet where their services are limited to main cities in pakistan.

In wireless broadband, the technology such as WiMAX & EVDO “evolution, data only” is targeting the customers in the market. Wateen telecom being the first wimax operator has more subscriber then the recently launched wordcall & wi-tribe, One the other hand wordcall & PTCL are offering Wireless broadband with EVDO technology.

The race among the broadband companies is still on the move, the competition in this sector ultimately leads them to provide the consumer the best broadband services at cheap price.
