E commerce became the source of living for most of the IT professionals, but in Pakistan when the young entrepreneurs steps forward to make their career in e-commerce, they find it difficult to manage their payments & receiving on the internet. it is hard to reveal that PayPal one of the leading source to send or receive money on the internet didn’t authorized Pakistan to avail there services. So this means that a large no of freelancers & IT professionals cant be able to get the benefit of online job portals like odesk, elance & many others.

PayPal in Pakistan became a dilemma now. Its been 11 years since paypal started their services & now they have reached 190 countries but yet Pakistan is not in the list, So the result is most of the people here get in the hassle to ask their relatives & friends from the PayPal supported country to send or receive their online payments. You know people in Malta & Uganda can send & receive payments online using PayPal but not the people of Pakistan. I don’t know the reason why PayPal is ignoring the growing entrepreneurs & online merchants of Pakistan, they are loosing a good revenue that they can make if started their services in Pakistan. I don’t want to extent this debate with unjustified remarks that people make about why PayPal is not available in Pakistan. but hope that we will see PayPal soon in our country.

I think what makes print media alive in a long run is the trust & believe of readers. i have seen many people, specially those who born before 80s. they uses all the print, electronic & web for news updates & the bottom line of their perception only agreed with the reports taken from print media editorials. so in this case, internet can be described as a good medium for information but not journalism. you get information in bulk & raw shape from the internet & you interpret it after checking it on some other sources of news.

But however, the graph of internet journalism & its effectiveness will be higher then any other source in a long run. all the reliable & trusted news providers are working to establish a smooth & successful setup at which the online readers of their news website will be charged for monthly subscriptions. they are also focusing at online social media tools such as the facebook & twitter to use for news purposes in order to boost up the readership. so will you pay for the online news content?

Apple the legislative of iPhone has announced an update for the users of this decent phone. The updated firmware 3.1 with bug fixes. apple also released a new series of itunes, its a 9th version. if you’re into phones, specially the iphone, then this must be a good update for you. though i am not a big fan of iphone becasue it dont like phones with touch pad, but yes, it influence me due to its unique design & attractive features. its a good entertainer rather then just a phone. you can enjoy your web presence at the best level if you are using iphone.

I have read few reviews in a forum about this update which reveals that the iphone OS 3.1 updated is not that bombastic, people are expecting more. there is no such additional features provided in it. Except few improvement in making it user friendly, the modem firmware & easy synchronization.

The features provided in this firmware included, itunes U content organisation, save the vedio from mail & MMS into camera roll, using mobileMe remotly lock your iphone, paste phone numbers into the dial pad & an improved iPhone Wi-Fi performance when Bluetooth is on.

zong GPRS

Are you pissed off with the speed of dial up internet connection at your location? or you need a portable & cheap internet solution for your laptop? In both the cases this post might be helpful. This is a step by step tutorial about how to connect to internet via GPRS by using your zong connection.

First of all you have to subscribed for zong GPRS package. you can choose among 2GB, 4GB or unlimited GPRS. dial 905 & follow the instructions. OR by sms, write SUB2GB OR 4GB or Unlimited & send it to 905. for general internet use a 2GB package is quite enough for whole month. Now make sure that you have activated the GPRS settings to your mobile, GPRS settings can be obtained by SMS, Write “your phone maker & model” like “NOKIA 6300″ & send it to 131. You will receive the desired setting, Activate it on your mobile phone.

Once you successfully configured your mobile for GPRS the next step is to connect it to your PC or laptop. If you are using nokia cell phone you can either use data cable or bluetooth device. I’ll prefers data cable here because it is more effective. the 3 easy steps to connect. First – Install Nokia PC suit to your computer. Second – Connect your mobile to your laptop by using data cable, usually SUB cable connectors are provided with most of the recent nokia phones. Third open your PC SUIT software & click on the button “connect to the internet” & you are all done. Enjoy internet suffering with good speed. In fact i am quite satisfied after using it. It gives me the speed of 115kb/s on my laptop.

While looking at the above Print media advertisement where PTCL proudly presents free internet facility over their fixed line. let me update you folks that this offer is no more valid since 16th may 2009.I came to realize this when i witnessed an outstanding amount with the tag “PTCL internet charges” in telephone bill. when i consult 1236 to inquire about this, The call center guy told me the story that from 16th may 2006 ptcl is charging on dial up internet @ RS 2/20minutes that makes it RS 6/hour. Since the last couple of months i was using PTCL dial up internet at home, Since there is no broadband facility available at my home location yet so i have no other option except to stay with it. The new charges for internet is nothing else but a sheer disappointment for folks who was return customers for PTCL fixed line service.

When PTCL introduce their wireless telephone services in Pakistan, i found nothing particular in fixed line telephone connection provided by them except the free internet availability which was launched back in November 2008, Yet that is no more available. So why to pay additional for line rent & CLI when their is a better option for dial up internet in the form of PTCL wireless. I confess that PTCL has really improved the quality of their services but one the other hand i really suspect if they didn’t alter the tariffs regarding line rent in the fixed line telephony, they will gradually lose their subscribers.

When It came to quality the most important things to consider is web hosting for your website, If your site is hosted with a trusted & high quality company then you are safe. I have witnessed many people who choose cheap hosting solutions & ultimately suffer loss of data due to server crash or virus infections.
