Education is surely the back bone of development in any county, In Pakistan the educational policy commute very often. Every government strives to implement different practices with the aim to raise the standard of education. However there are still huge discriminations about the exposure of education among different segments of society. Unfortunately every education policy implemented in Pakistan has failed to come up with one standard level of curriculum for all students. A lot of factors are responsible for it. including but not limited to, level of income, religious views & the existence of private schools & colleges. The schools administered by the state are not completely capable for providing quality education. Especially the subjects that are thought in English language are ignored by most of the teachers & students. So there is still a big room of improvement.

As a matter of fact a new education policy is implemented this year. Education policy 2009 is implemented with a focus to increase the literacy rate in tribal areas of Pakistan, which was & still is the major ground for terrorist people since many years. The objective of this policy is to seek a steady increase in literacy rate in that part of the country, by achieving the target of 86 per cent overall literacy rate, according to the policy Grades 11 and 12 of the college will be merged into the school education in near future.the higher education sector will also be raised by existing 4.7 per cent to 15 per cent by 2020.

While revealing the challenges Pakistan has in its education sector is a lengthy story. The first 10 years of academic life is very important for students. However the schools run by private entities are good in providing quality education with qualified teachers & where English is considered as the medium of instruction. But that school are limited to rich families. We are here to talk about general public. The big problem in the state run education system is English. Yet the policy makers have to accept that learning more about English is very necessary at primary level of education. We are living in an era where if we didn’t get command over English we cant expect big improvement in the quality of education.

Yes I admit that we are the unconditional slaves of English language. The reason is obvious; the epoch, in which we are living, I can testify that it is now the Americans who identify worthwhile educational & development ideas. The super powers & the global media empire chant in English. Most of books related to different fields of the world are available in English over the internet. The growth of English language courses in england & other countries of Europe & Asia is the example of how English is dominance among all other languages. yes it is after all the lingo of global empire.

The existence of multinational & high ranked companies in any country is surely a valuable asset that not only make a good contribution when it cames to job opportunities but also plays a part in promoting quality education & skills development. most of the multinational companies in Pakistan often seems engaged in organizing different exhibitions, seminars & off the campus competitions in order to enhance the skills of the students who belong to the related industry.

Similarly what telecoms companies is doing here in this regard is creating an embody & practical demonstration of theory. This is what i can say an open invitation for creative students to came forward. Recently mobilink one of the favorite cellular company in Pakistan announced an inter universities completion for engineering students. The event which is called “Mobilink Super Engineer Competition 2009” will provide the path to students from different high ranked engineering universities to work in line with mobilink team on different technical projects. each team from a university has to present the assignment at the end which will be evaluated by a committee of senior technical team. the winner will be called the mobilink super engineer 2009. they will also get the opportunity of job interview at mobilink.

Telenor is also doing well in this regard, the events like telenor career management workshops & on the campus management trainee program is also an approach to explore the hidden skills of the students as well as a path to pick up the enthusiastic & talented one to be the part of their team. This is for sure a highly acclaimed strategy to maintain utmost levels of excellence at the roots human capital development in any dynamic organization.

Javed choudhry articles are balanced & meaningful, I often read it online or either in the newspaper. It was few days ago when I came across one of his article that I want to discuss here in order to balance the cause why I write this post. In his article he explains how people from different backward regions discover highly advanced technologies. He put few examples when people who are living at the worst state of life in one place when happened to moved other places & cities, they easily get best opportunities to earn the prosper living standards. The distance between success & failure lies in the will & the decision to move. The conclusion of his article is that he wants to convey a message to unemployed people that if they fail to get opportunities in one city or a country they can possibly get their luck at other cities or countries.

Ok, now let’s talk about things practically, In Pakistan a number of students apply for visa to study in different foreign universities specially in London, Some of them are genuine with a keen intention to study while a number of them wants to fun around & enjoy their time at places like tantric massage london uk. traditionally most of them get this work done through foreign education consultants, yesterday I hear this news from a friend of mine who apply for study visa through a well know consultant in Peshawar, He submitted his tuition fee last month & according to him he is quite near to move abroad. Lately when he arrived to their office to find information about his visa he found a number of other students complaining that the office is closed since a week & the study visa program is just a fraud. They cheat them all & run away from the scene & left the student with empty hands. So try to learn from others experiences from both the positive & negative angle.

If by any chance you happen to travel at place where the language people speak & understand is other then what you know. What will you do then? yes off course your first priority will be looking for a person who has the command on both the languages. so that you can convey your message to that people easily. Particularly in the scenario of communication what will you consider in the excellence of your strengths that can help you in spreading your message to a strange community. Yes! it will be not other then your command on different languages. I am not talking about media here, i am just referring to your own ability that how can you handle different situations via effective communication.

Bertrand Russell wrote in on of his book “In former days, men sold themselves to the Devil to acquire magical powers” However but in todays age of communication this never happens. yes i do believe this is not difficult acquire powers. specifically the power of communication by learning different languages. it is believed that learning the language of superior nations is essential to acquire development, yes it is true as we can see English that is mostly understandable because it is the official language of nations that is known as the super powers of the world. but hay!the race does not ends here if you want to volunteer abroad or seek internships Argentina. you have be more distinguished in learning languages. also you can get a chance to learn some old regional languages in these cases. In fact the more you learn the more you acquire the power of communication.

Similarly if your intention is to study abroad. most of the educational institutes consider it mandatory for international students to have the standard language certification (like ILETS & TOFEL for english) Not just for study but also in the case of work visa. I have seen many folks here who was looking for a volunteer South America visa but the concerned authorities refused their application because of their poor language skills in interview. So it is your communication skills that either makes you helpless or the most successful person in the society.

Some initiatives directed by the ruling government are implemented on temporary basis. Its likely to be discontinued at the arrival of new regime. Same is the situation happen with NIP, The national internship program. The Caretaker government didn’t show any interest in this program last year & a large no of fresh graduates missed this opportunity which was initiated by the existing government. The aim of the NIP was to support fresh graduates with the age not more then 25 years who didn’t find suitable job after the completion of 16 years of education. Under the National internship program a candidate will be provided on the job training at various government departments with RS 10,000 stipend for their incidental expenditures.

However a couple of days ago I came to know through one of my friend that national internship program is resurrected after the direction of prime minister. He got his posting in Islamabad. I refreshed my memory & came to know that I was also the one who applied for this last year. Surprisingly I didn’t hear from them till now. This might be due to the reason that I changed my cell number recently. However I appreciate this step of government by continuing the national internship program.

Update: The Official website of national internship program is down due to some technical problem. I confirmed this from my friend. Candidates seeking the status of their internship registration & can contact at the Central office of NIP, Establishment Department, blue area Islamabad. They have the list of candidates who have been selected for national internship program 2009 batch in different cities. I also conformed that candidates who applied with city other then Islamabad can be contacted later.

When we talk about dissemination of information & entertainment. Mass media can be the best answer, but however if we see the broader aspect of media, we came to know that media is not all about informing & entertaining people. The time is arrived where the collective strength of any nation can be judged from its media strength. So as a matter of fact the passion for power of any nation is not just by getting stronger in military terms but also from the factor of media strength these days.

The reason I didn’t choose journalism as a full time profession after getting a degree in mass communication is still not revealed in this blog. So let me put some facts in front of you. It is however worth saying that electronic media in the recent few years got extensive boom & a number of TV channels entered Pakistani media circle. But however on the other hand majority practicle journalists is still unable to get the fruit of this development. I personally witness many of my talented batch fellows who after getting 1st class masters degree & junior English courses can’t even managed to cover their own expenditures while working as a reporter at well known English daily. Infect this is the great mockery with graduates that when they join their careers, simultaneously they face problems regarding compensation. It is truth that a large number of journalist in Pakistan are predominantly unpaid, the main problem that journalist community face is financial. On the other hand job insecurity & lack of freedom to report & publish information makes this profession more difficult for fresh graduates. So the output is they prefer to do any other job in the market.

Now the question is how many of the unpaid or low paid journalist meets their expenses? This is the question no body can answer exactly but i can make an orgument about it. Infact there is a silent group of people (Politicians, industralists, foreign spys etc) who exist behind the journalist community, they bribe them time to time & make them use for their own deeds. This un balanced & premature media often present biased facts, this is obvious in situations when there are corruptions at different levels. So i concluded here that in one hand the journalist in pakistan didn’t have any job security & financial strength when it came to compensation, while on the other hand he can enjoy a portfolio with the power to make or destroy images & can made mansion from their undisclosed income if they want.

The present scenario in our society regarding education is completly reversed from the past when availing tuitions meant that you were weak or a bad student.but as we look students of this age, tutions are a significent need of ever one. wheather rich or poor. so the conclusion is that tutions culture take root in the present educational system.

There are many factos involve that boost the increasing demand for tuitions. for example the the large no of pupils in class rooms. so its difficult for teachers to pay indicidual attention. for instance an internet marketing teacher can’t manage to check the activities & performance as well as make it sure that all the students have understand the lesson in only 30 or 6o minutes.on the other hand if we talk about SEO Marketing Company that ensure students to learn how to understand the lesson & be attentive to the teacher during class by their powerful Social Media Marketing . i belive thay are playing their role their best level. but only 5% of the actual students was aware about it. so what for the other 95%?

Another important thing leading to the tuitions culture is the present teacher status in our society & less monitory benefits in the teaching profession. as a result many teachers are forced to run private tuitions centers to earn normal living. the present examination system is another factor that lead tuitions centers to encourage students to take shotcuts rather then studying the respective subjects indepth. solving old examination papers & notes cultuer are the few exmaples of it.
