However a fair chain of railway is there to connect big cities, but most of the people like to travel by road in Pakistan. One of the reason might be the good structure of roads now. It is worth mentioning that the chain of our roads is getting better after the construction of motorways in the recent decade. The Peshawar – Islamabad motorway & Islamabad to Lahore motorways are the greatest achievements in this regard that provides the efficient & comfortable transportation facility to the people.

A couple of weeks ago, I was traveling from my home town (tarbela) to Islamabad, the above photo is taken soon after when i leave burhan interchange. It is about 80 Km journey. Most of the time i use the route of motorway from burhan. Yet no other choice. although it’s been 1.5 years when the motorway was opened for traffic from Peshawar to Islamabad but the chuch interchange that connect hazro & tarbela to M1 is still not open for traffic.. We are really unfortunate in this case when an interchange that directly link tarbela to motorway is not yet constructed. the authority claims that the local community are making hurdles in the construction, all the people living in the near surroundings are sane people, i wouldn’t agree with the argument that they can stop this development at there own area. Now it’s the failure of authority or what ever, this dilemma need to be resolved now.

E- Tag is the electronic toll system at motorway in Pakistan in which the tool tax is automatically deducted from the chip that is stick on the screen of the vehicle. It makes an hassle free entry & exits from motorway interchanges & you don’t need to stay in lines to pay the tool fee physically.. E-Tag is free of cost, it’s like a pre-pay billing, you just pay for tool as much you want at the booth provided at most of the big interchanges like Islamabad, Peshawar & Lahore. they need your vehicle no & NIC no to provide you a chip sticker for your vehicle wind screen. but here the E-tag got few one negative point that it is not yet available at all interchanges of motorway. you can use this facility at selected interchanges that includes, peshawar, islamabad, lahore, faisalabad, mardan & burhan.

After the military operation begin in the upper part of NWFP (Pakistan). A large population started migration to other places of the country including the refugee camps for IDPs (internally displaced people) at swabi & mardan. Since it is the biggest internal migration in Pakistan’s history & a large no of people has to move from their homes to the IDP camps & other safe places in a short notice, So for the convenience of IDPs the government allow them to use their non custom paid vehicles. The vehicles which belong to non custom paid category are the one which was illegally smuggled (mostly though Afghanistan) with out custom clearance. In Pakistan these cars are in use at swat, dir & some tribal areas. These cars are sold in cheaper prices; one can bought a Toyota corolla model 1998 or 2000 at RS: 200,000 while the same model car worth about 800,000 at custom cleared vehicles in other parts of the country.

However here is a big issue of security since the day non-custom paid vehicles of IDPs are allowed in different parts of the country, especially Peshawar. Security agencies are having great trouble to regarding security issue. The recent Bomb blast at Pearl continental hotel Peshawar is a question mark why the non-custom paid vehicles are allowed since the county is already under the grip of major security threat.

Almost every one who is a little conceren with business at any level might be aware of the current global ression in worlds economy. The finincial analysts in the world reveal that all the major economies in the world have to face the situation like this once they got boom in business sector. Infact this is the general practice in business that every busniess after a slow start reaches to it peak & then gradually starts declining. So if it is said that Y2K is the peak stages for the world famouse busniess setups in highly developed countries then it would not be wrong. Similarly after Y2K the coming years seems not to be good for the corporate industry & entrepreneurs specially. One of the major threat that faces by all economies in the world is unstability & terrorissom in the society. That makes most of the busniess setups either to close or either not providing path for the suitable territories to expand their business globally.

Now just look at the present scenario in automobiles industires of the world known car brands. At present they are facing the worst financial crunch & had cut thousand of jobs during the last couple of months. According to news reports nissan cuts 1,200 jobs in japan & america due to thousands of unsold cars during the last quarter in 2008. Similarly sales of new cars in the UK have slumped to a 12 year low this year. RV Awnings & other sapare parts manufacturers also face decline in sales. Same is the situation here in my country where all the manufacturer increases the prices of the cars which leads to cut the sales & business decline in automobile industry.

Well this is just a about a brotherly advise to all visitors who drives often early in the morning. Use fog lights (Highly recommended) & slow down the speed while driving on the Motorway. I have been observed several accidents while on the way from Islamabad to Peshawar via motorway. If you don’t have fog lights installed at your vehicle you can turn on (emergency indicators) in order to avoid any bad thing. Keep the distance!

Yes! Not only the house hold commodities but also the prices of cars. All major car assemblers in Pakistan raises the prices of their all models of cars. Although there are cars from various brands available at market here in Pakistan but the three major cars manufacturers are Suzuki (Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited) Honda (Atlas motors ) and Toyota (Indus Motor Company). I came to know about the current rise in prices when a friend of mine ask me to check the price of Suzuki mehran at the company outlet here at Peshawar, so as a matter of fact I visit their showroom yesterday. I was surprised to see the boom in prices of all the cars, the dealer told me that last week the price of this very model of Suzuki mehran was 20,000 lesser then what it is today. However I inform my friend about the prices & give him suggestion to go for any good model of Honda or Toyota (the most famous brands in Pakistan) but later I came to know that both of these companies followed the footsteps of pak Suzuki & they also increases their car prices.

According to local automobiles news, the current rise in car prices is due to the falling value of rupee against various currencies e.g. US Dollar & Euro. As well as rise in steel prices at the country. Yes! I believe cars manufactures have no other option except to increase the price to cover their manufacturing cost, here I must say one thing that the current rise in fuel & car prices as well as government restriction on the import for used cars not older than three years, all these circumstances may leads to cut down the sale of cars at its lowest level in the incoming months inside the country, lets see….
