ZONG ! Another BRAND in Cellular telephony.
Recently china mobile company in pakistan after replacing the code 0304 with 0314, now introduced its new brand in called “ZONG” . with an introductory slogan ” say everything†or “sub kuch kah do†& started its advertiseng compaign at popular print & electronic media outlets.
Paktel started its commercial operations in pakistan in november 1990 as the pioneer of cellular telephony with an AMPS network which was converted to TDMA (Digital) in 2003. soon after GSM quickly gained popularity all over the world and became the technology of choice leaving AMPS/TDMA far behind.Paktel’s principal shareholder was Millicom Pakistan, which held 98.86% equity of Paktel. but however on Feb 13th 2007 Millicom announced that it had completed the sale of its 88.86 per cent shareholding in Paktel Limited to China Mobile Communications Corporation which finalized Millicom’s exit from Pakistan. Soon after, china mobile company bought all the assests of paktel , the new management seems busy, to tie up promotional strategies, with the intention to win the telecom market slowly & silently. well that is just a prediction i have made because in pakistan chines products mostly are famous due to their cheap prices. & more the 90% population in pakistan is price concious due to their lower or medium income level, so lets see weather ZONG is facilitating mobile users specially youngsters by providing lowest calling, sms,mms as well as GPRS rates or not. anyways i welcome ZONG for the only reason tht i like its colourful corporate logo

sir i am very dissappoint from your network in start bocz i need night free packege so thats why i choose your product sir and your help line is very much buzy so sir how can i activate my night free package in zong
the initial launch caused the subscribers a lot of hassle to get their connections,surprisingly the largest cellular company in universe started with only 1 customer service center in gulshan iqbal near Baitul mukaram.
i luckily got my sim from a near by shop but it was very difficult to get the helpline number hooked up.after several tries when i got it connected i was put to hold for 35 minutes,which fried my ear.
the customer relation officer was in a great hurry to answer your queries.
I send an email to the zong but after 4 days no reply.I also requested for unlimited GPRS but couldnt get it activated in 36 hrs.
All this is really unprofessional from CM they claim they have they have the biggest subscriber net
but they could,nt manage things in Pakistan.
lately when i tried to call for my GPRS activation complain,i was put to hold for 45 min and then it disconnected,and then there was a recording that u have made 5 attempts to call zong now u can all again tomoro.
China Mobile call it Cheap Mobile.

Though i got the unlimited GPRS but iam regreting it now,though China mobiles have offered good rates i.e. 500 flat including all taxes and for the first time in Pakistan you can enjoy unlimited internet on a prepaid connection but the speed is just 1-2 kb download.also its fluctuating very much gets stopped in the middle of downloading a file.
Iam very dissapointed, China Mobile, which is famous for value added services proved to be another Looser in terms of internet and customer support.
Imagine its the beginning and it will get worse with time.

The packages aren’t so appropriate, specially “SMS Charges” are so “HIGH”. They should introduce SMS/MMS packages like Warid n Ufone. Well i still find that Warid is best in case of call rates and for customer services and quick service as well. Ufon offer great offers in SMS pckages while Warid offers ZOOMU service for SMS n MMS as well. You can do 250 (MMS/SMS) in a day for a cost of approximately Rs.9 and offer web browsing at very low rates. Zong should consider these suggestions as well. Afterall we are “SO CALLED” FREEEEEEEEEEE COUNTRY
its good china mobile venturing in pakistan and adding to an already deregulated celluar market this should have been done long before when there was a monoply of mobilink on the market then came ufone and so on but still its a good thing for the end users. let these telecom companies battle it out among themselves and let the users get most of it

one thing i share with your survy staff that few area of NWFP like Dara Adam Khel (Kutal to Tunnel area—–Lachi to Shaheedan Karak) their is no Network of all existing compnees U fone,Jazz,Telenar,etc .I think that Zong mobile start operation provied facilities for above mentioned area .

Zong’s coustomer service is very bad, i think bad is very small word for their current system ;-( First time when i heard that a new compnay enter in mobile phone networks…i.e world’s biggest etc. etc. i personally feel happy that their service must be good specially in starting…but…but….@ 1st day of launching my all assumptions are get wrong…very poor quality of signals, Pakistan’s most poor quality coustomer service number. It looks more worst then the earlier operator of that network PAKTEL.I am using Telenor since their 1st day of launching, their coustomer priority is very good since day 1, unfortunatly Zong have some other priorities where coustomer(s) are not important at all.
Soryy if any 1 hurt due to my comments….but these are facts up to my research.

Adnan what happened to you at zong customer services center.please thinkg positive this is a new they are trying to minimize the monoply of others.all other compnies really cheat with us. they deduct unnecessay balance & over chargning as well. zong is not doing this kind of things………very goos company my dear.
